Maria Marsala, founder of Elevating Your BusinessMaria Marsala is a former Fortune 300 executive, small business strategist, author, and speaker. Maria entered the business world at 14 as an Avon representative. She started her "second" career on Wall Street at the tender age of 17 and made her mark at several well-respected firms: Merrill Lynch, Dean Witter Reynolds, and Bear Stearns. Wall Street recognized and rewarded Maria's fierce determination and keen business insights; she became a bond trader at a time when women executives were a rare commodity. Maria then turned her knack for problem solving, organizing, and systems development into a new position, increasing productivity and reducing expenses in a variety of departments.

Elevating Your Business provides a variety of support (phone, in person, email, etc.) to service companies and independent professionals whose sales are 6 and 7-figures annually (or that's the number they want their business to make). Her clients -- located around the USA -- count on her expertise, ideas, resources, and solutions to their business growth challenges. In fact, her clients "crowned" her "The Resource Queen" because of the great number of resources she provides them as they get "unstuck".

Maria shepherds her clients towards success by focusing on simplicity and execution. She helps her clients create, refine, and reuse business systems and marketing processes that "work." Her concepts have been featured in numerous national and international publications, including Money magazine, Women's Day, and The Bottom Line. Her ideas and strategies are mentioned in several books including "6 Steps to Free Publicity" by Marcia Yudkin, and "Streetwise Small Business Book of Lists: Hundreds of Lists to Help You Reduce Costs, Increase Revenues, and Boost Your Profits," edited by Gene Marks.

Elevating Your Business is partnered with a variety of businesses that compliment her clientele. Maria has spoken at more than 70 events nationwide, is an Internet veteran, certified teleseminar leader, trained life coach, and former newspaper columnist; she has also appeared on numerous radio and TV shows.

Maria is a native NY'er, who happens to currently live in near Seattle, Washington. She's a life long learner who has volunteered for several decades, currently at Washington DECA, Washington Business Week, Washington Fish & Wildlife, Columbia Tower Club. She's won numerous awards for her environmental efforts and work with teenagers. Maria is single and also loves to cook, play cards, read, garden, and socialize.

More About Me!

My mission has always been to help others get to the next step; no matter what that step was. I seem to have the natural gifts of being able to motivate others, build trust quickly and connect people with people or resources that help them grow. A comment I've heard often is that it's refreshing to deal with someone who just says it like she sees it. Below are some of the many things I've done in my life that I'm proud of.

  1. I'm one of 4 Moderators at Willie Crawfords forum; and the only women -- yet again!
  2. I'm was a 'certified Mediator in NY and one of the first members of the Increase the Peace Movement
  3. I started volunteering at age 10 (I keep my volunteering stuff private)
  4. As a certified NYC Tree Prunner, when called upon, I can trim street and city Parks trees in NYC, where I was a volunteer for more than 10 years.
  5. I've won a few community awards for my work with teenagers and conducting community clean ups.
  6. I was a Zone Captain for International Beach Clean Up Day and taught 7 organizations how to successfully conduct clean-ups.
  7. Once, when I purposly changed jobs within the same company, I was able to go from making a company money, to saving that company the same amount that I had been making them in a year!
  8. I drove across the country after driving for less then 6 years (a major feat for a NYer who used a ferry, buses and trains to get around)
  9. I have mentored a culturally diverse group of nearly 100 teenagers; one of whom years later purchased my first home on Staten Island.
  10. Even though I know I'll move back to NY someday, I took a chance, went on an adventure, and have now lived in two other states.
