I hate writing, do you?

Celebrating 19 years of writing!
– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –
I hate writing and try as I have, I suck at it and yet, I still I do a lot of it!
But no matter what
classes I took to write better, proofread better,
etc., they didn’t work. Like many of you, I’m an
insightful idea person (that’s what my clients
call my out of the box ideas that they use to grow
their businesses).
Some of us are just like that.
But I don’t want all the ideas that could make someone money to go to waste. So I write them down, explain them as best as I can and let the experts do the rest!
Although Chris Mifsud, my marketing manager, isn’t
critiquing this post, it’s because of her,
Karen Kanakanui, and the virtual assistants I’ve had over
the years, that my ideas end up looking so
polished. Heck they look like articles on my
blog, ebooks, workbooks, workshops, etc. – and not
just great ideas.
Sure, I put in my time on those things, but to me, they
do the hard part! Thank you Chris, Karen and the
rest!
Here’s how my newsletter was started in 1998…
I was living in rural Dunn, North
Carolina (I moved there from NYC for those of you
who don’t know). One of the things I did was
teach business classes through a local college at
a business incubator. I taught keyboarding,
internet skills, and desktop publishing classes to
an audience of mostly” new business owners.
To give the students practice (I had to teach many
of them where the plug was to turn on the
computer), I gave them my Prodigy email address so
that they could email me their questions. I
figured that would give them more quality time
with me during the weekly classes.
The first week, I got not emails. Truth be told,
they thought I was kidding them about emailing me;
something they’d never done before when attending
a class. Well, the second week they started
emailing me and I realized that all the students
would all benefit from the questions posed and my
answers. That started my first “computer tips
newsletter”. My second newsletter was a daily
quote newsletter which I stopped producing in
2002.
Thus, a version of my newsletter, originally called “Tech Tips”, was born.
In honor of this special anniversary month, today’s newsletter is full of Tech Tips and 2
webinars you can download and view at your convenience! Enjoy!
