42. Take the Notes - Please! Since 1998, I have offered audio taping of coaching calls and over the years, doing so has become commonplace. So, how can I  go the extra mile to stand out?  I recently started providing clients with a transcription of the call within 4 days (usually sooner). Our clients can focus on the topics they bring to the call, not worry about missing resources, not have to take detailed notes, and more importantly, not have to listen to an hour of audio -- unless they want to. 55. It Pays to Speak To connect more deeply with prospects -- get paid to speak, especially as a Keynoter. Prior to the event, some attendees or those who find your events listed on the web will visit your website. Some join your ezine, email you or read your site and get to know you better. That connection is expanded when you hand out an evaluation form with "check here to receive our emails". Because you have permission, they get your newsletter, share it and bring more traffic to your website.    Thanks to: Maria Marsala of Act Now Seminars.   Get the rest of the tips at:   http://www.carolroth.com/blog/traffic-increasing-website-traffic-tips/

On Introducing Yourself To Strangers

2022-08-07T17:43:01-04:00June 16th, 2012|Networking|0 Comments

On Introducing Yourself To Strangers When a stranger walks up to you and asks, "So, what do you do?", truth be told, they really don't care what you do. They are masking the questions they really want to ask you. What are the questions on their mind? What they really want is: "How can you help me reach my goals?" and "Are you trustable?". Give them what they really want. How? Here's my quick-starter template: I work with __________ [your target market] to __________ [biggest problem you help them resolve]. Examples: I work with independent financial advisors who are ready to serve more clients. I work with financial advisors who are struggling to grow their businesses.

Here's a template I created for my clients.  It's not the easiest subject to talk about, but it's a necessity.   First and most importantly, when you know how you'll leave, and when you plan to leave, you'll make better business decisions now (because you're taking the future into consideration, too.)  Plus we read horror stories about an owner who dies suddenly.  No one knows the password to get into their computer.    No one knows how to run the business.   Things fall apart and those left behind suffer.   How would you like to exit from your company?   Fill it in and put your vision in the comments box on this page.  Remember, if you don't plan it, it's going

In the last edition of my newsletter, I promised to provide you with some information on speaking and getting paid "in-kind". A quick note: keep in mind that financial advisors and a few other industries can't accept payment to speak. However, there are many business owners on my email list who can be paid as professional speakers. Ok, back to the subject at hand. Speaking at an event takes between 8-14 hours of preparation and you deserve to be paid for your knowledge. If you are a professional speaker, your #1 priority is to be paid your FULL fee. Don't be quick to take "in-kind". It's OK to say "no" to someone who will not pay
