If you were a moderator of a GROUP on LinkedIn, what are the ways you could proactively gain new members?

LinkedIn members won’t allow post to gain members in the Answers section, but with the help of other LinkedIn members, we’ve found 27 different ways to promote your GROUP

1) purchase a URL that is easy to use to tell others about the group I run, and have it linked to the LinkedIn GROUP.
2) put an ad for it on Craigslist (small biz ad)
3) promoted it to my Facebook and LI connections
4) I’ve promoted the group to other LI groups or members when that sense.
5) I’ve asked the group members to advertise it
6) Mention your group in status updates
7) Ask group members to invite those who fit the criteria for membership
8) Use Twitter, Facebook and Google+, and other groups you’re a member of like NING
9) Share content posted to the group
10) Post good content to the group
11) Make sure your GROUP description includes keywords
12) Conduct a group for a location and offer in-person events)
13) Post the groups information to your website or blog
14) Promote the group offline, too.
15) Advertise the group using LinkedIn Ads
16) Invite people who you’re not connected with on LI to join the gruop
17) Make sure that the moderator — moderates
18) Remove spam quickly
19) Do a search to target potential members.
20) Send anyone who joins your group a Welcome and ask them to invite others
21) Post announcements on non-competing groups
22) Share the announcement you have on your blog with your other social networking groups
23) Provide weekly articles
24) Start a new discussion a week
25) Attach a blog to the GROUP for added connections
26) Look at events that match your niche and invite those who join the event
27) Join other Groups with large memberships
