Well, I'm not sure that anyone actually cringes when they see these words, but do believe that these words don't say anything about your experiences. What can you do if these words are on your resume? Look to turn them into acomplishments. If you are "results-oriented" tell us how. In fact if you take any of the words and ask yourself "how did I do or acomplish that" you'll have a resume that highlights your acomplishments and stand out out from the crowd in the process. http://blog.linkedin.com/2010/12/14/2010-top10-profile-buzzwords/ If your professional profile on LinkedIn is your resume, ise this resource to http://resume.linkedinlabs.com/

Women Confidence Index

By Maria Coyne A somewhat sobering picture emerged in the recently-completed fourth edition of the  Key4Women Confidence Index. The signs of a general economic upturn that were identified in the third Index  (released this spring) have now given way to a more mixed picture, but with clear indications that the recovery has slowed. Perhaps most significantly, data captured in the fall Index finds that fewer women business owners — 33.3%, versus 53.78% a year ago — think the economy will be better in six months. Exactly half — 50% — now think the economy will be about  the same in six months. Read more on page 3 of  <a href="http://www.mariaonmoney.com" target=_blank">http://www.mariaonmoney.com</a>

What’s the difference between vision, mission, and purpose?

2022-08-07T17:46:50-04:00December 13th, 2010|Teams & Groups|0 Comments

Vision - What am I creating? This would be from my standpoint (features, services/products, $, ideal client, etc.) Mission - How am I helping/servicing my clients? What are the end results from the clients standpoint? Purpose - What is it inside of me that makes me do or brings out the passion or drives me to do what I'm doing Having said that, the problem is that in business, you'll see mission and vision interchangeable, depending on what book you read.

Make this business strategy yours!

"The plan itself enables you to create a checklist of things you must do and learn in order to succeed. It forces leaders to get really clear about those strategies and tactics, and most importantly, to debate those issues with other smart people who can help you. Until you commit to a plan, there is no accountability and no way to clearly measure progress. As it turns out, most plans don't turn out as planned exactly -- things may be better or worse. But without a plan, failure is more likely because you'll thrash about wasting time and effort without accountability. The planning process saves you time, effort and energy." -- Mark Thompson, co-Author of Success
