Why Create an Exit Vision?
My clients think it’s strange, but they do it anyway and thank me latter.
After they create a Business Vision Statement for the next year, they create an exit vision. Actually create 3 visions – a year, an exit and somewhere in between. And if you’re a mom create one for when your children are in school part time, and then full time, too.
Knowing where you want to go will help you make better decisions and focus on what’s important to you and your business. And there are no excuses — yes, there is a big chance that, over time, your vision will change (usually it gets bigger as you become more confident).
Here is an interesting article about succession/exit planning that’s bound to get you thinking in the right direction. http://www.forbes.com/2010/06/22/jpmorgan-management-executive-markets-equities-banking.html?partner=alerts
