If these names sound famliar to you, then you're from Brooklyn. Well maybe you watched TV in the Tri-State area in the 1950's and 60's. Today, on PBS, there was a Soupy Sales special. I started singing songs that I haven't sung in more than 40 years. It got me wondering what happened to some of my childhood favorite shows. I found Chuck McCann on Facebook! How wonderful. But most of the rest are in comic heaven. Here are some links to what I found. Enjoy! Chuck McCann Sonny Fox Soupy Sales The Birthday House So who did I leave off of your childhood memory list?

I'm sure that the raccoons are at it again. As I walked through the house I heard the sounds of birds outside. Doing their usual singing and flying around. Then all of a sudden I was sure there was a bear in the yard. The yakking was out of control I had to see what all the fusing was about. There was no bear. It was a hawk, called a herrier, according to the bird book. But what I also noticed was that there was a big pile of birdseed in the yard. I'm sure it was "Rocket" the raccoon and her 3 children at it again. I'm also sure it was my fault for not

Ten years ago I purchased an expensive health appliance -- a JuiceLady juicer. Over time the white plastic parts became orange from the carrots. And even though I beat it up, the thing ran perfectly, until I cracked a plastic part. After watching the infomercials I purchased a juice extractor. it extracted juice but I didn't feel that it lived up to the hype of the commercial. It wasn't as easy to clean and stopped often while using it, making me clean it often. I returned it, thinking something was very wrong, and the new one did the same thing. I also couldn't figure out why my glasses, which were as tall as the one on

While everyone is looking at the "too big to fail" in the financial industries, no one seems to be home watching the food industry. Until I watched this movie on PBS, I had no idea at how few farms (think picket fences, red barns, etc) were left in this country. I also couldn't figure out how come tomatoes I purchase from the store just all seem to taste the same (like cardboard). Please consider learning about it yourself. http://www.foodincmovie.com/  and http://www.pbs.org/pov/foodinc/

Summer has finally caught up with Washington State. it's been over 70 degrees, actually in the 90's and breaking all sorts of records. I took the fans out of the garage today. If you know any native Washingtonians, I would recommend that you don't call them until it's 50 degrees again. I'm sure they're frying in this heat. You see in Washington it's usual to see folks in shorts when it hits 50 degrees out side! They start complaining about the heat somewhere near 70 degrees. Surely a funny sight for a New Yorker like me. So this weather is something I'm sure they'd prefer "goes away" - and soon. It's even too hot for the
