Is it time to charge what your time is really worth?

It’s Time to Charge What Your Time Is Really Worth! Catherine (name changed to protect client identity) wanted to earn more, yet she also craved a greater balance between her work and free time. She decided to take our Business Checkup Quiz, which showed her that she was leaking profits. During a pre-client conversation in 2008, I told her two things: a) She was being underpaid by at least $100 per hour, possibly $200 per hour – Regardless of the sluggish economy. b) Yes, she was leaking profits in a number of ways. Now I know this may sound a bit funny, but the truth is that not everyone should be able to afford you! If

But I want more than one target audience!

“But I want to have more than one target audience!” "I'll get bored if I only work with one type of client."  I’m told this over and over and over again. Actually, the most successful companies started out with one ideal client and one niche. You may have that too, but you may have additional market segments. And there might be added income available when you look at these segments. Let me explain. I was working with a leadership coach (her niche) who was targeting executives (ideal client); and working this way wasn't working for her. Then I asked her to create a list of everyone she could possibly help. It was a very long list that

Xenu: Identify broken website links – FREE

2022-08-07T17:47:00-04:00September 11th, 2010|Website Development|0 Comments

To fix links, you have to know that they're broken (not working) or are redirecting (they work but are being sent to a different website page). Of course you fix the ones that aren't working and also change the URLS so that theyare no longer redirecting (unless it's an affiliate link). I think that I started using this free software in 2000 when my website was 10 pages! I usually upgrade when Tillman (it's creator) sends me an update notice through his other free yahoogroups list. It's not perfect, but it's very good! If you don't fix your own website, do your web designer a favor and tell them about it! Xenu's Link Sleuth: http://home.snafu.de/tilman/xenulink.html

Serial entrepreneur John Warrillow offers up a strategy to get you excited and re-focused on important -- but often avoided -- areas of your company. Read the article on the INC. Magazine website. http://www.inc.com/articles/2010/08/how-to-re-energize-your-business.html A few things besides this being a great article. a) If you're ever stuck for what to post to your blog - look at the opportunity that the comments your connections post provide you. b) Articles that contain four to seven point articles can say A LOT! c) Here was my original comment to the blog What a great exercise! Can't wait to send it to my clients and followers. Here is one other consideration I use with my small business clients.

Should you add social networking/media to your marketing strategies?

2022-08-07T17:47:01-04:00August 31st, 2010|Social Media|1 Comment

Social networking is NOT new. I first found what could be called social networking back in 1995, but even then it was old. In the 1960's or 70's it starter out as Usenet I knew it as alt newsgroups. Back in 2004, it was the only way to meet others online; it just wasn't used to often for or buy businesses. Think Prodigy Forums, think "forums" for any type of person or problem, think AOL Groups. Fast forward again... Today, all consolidated business, strategic, marketing, and financial plans should include at a minimum discussion about social marketing/media. Most should include integrated marketing and network strategies. Integrated = a variety of marketing strategies that build on each
